Social Changes

Today's society is changing and growing so fast that each new generation is leaving the previous generation in the dust. For instance the current generation will never know a world without the internet. To them IM, music download, and instant access are the norm and to be expected. This is just one example, and I'm sure you could come up with a few on your own.

Well, my question to ponder for the day is this:
Are these exponentially rapid changes from generation to generation really heathy for our society and lives, or are they causing more problems than they are solving?
Just something for you to think about.

This exponential growth is alarming at the very least. It IS dangerous with it's potential misuse. These are the last days. The end is coming. I see all this technology as one side of the pendulum's swing. I have been in the company of those who are living at the other end of the swing. A middle ground has been the scriptural stand on wine, food, work, and play. I feel it is necessary here as well. Enjoy the technological advances with caution and care that they do NOT become our replacement for Our Lord Jesus Christ. The First and Second Commandment apply here. Alison

I have read some things along the same line alison. The 20th Century brought the most rapid changes than the previous 19 centuries combined. I can't remember where it is in Scripture but there is support to this being a sign of the last days.

Kim, it is Daniel 12:4. God is instructing Daniel to seal up the book until the end of days when people will be searching for it and "Knowledge shall be increased." I think the Hebrew word used here is Rabah or a derivitave of it. Rabah has a linguistic texture of explosive growth. As Jay so expressed it, exponential growth. Alison
